Check-In Experience
Upon arrival, the ground floor was bustling with activity, but the hotel’s clever design transported us away from the chaos. Check-in is located on the 7th floor, creating a serene and separate experience that sets the tone for a relaxing stay. We were warmly greeted by the Guest Relations Supervisor, whom I had been in contact with prior to our arrival. She personally confirmed that the chef could accommodate our vegan dietary needs throughout our stay, which we greatly appreciated.

Although no suites were available at check-in, she kindly arranged for an upgrade to a suite on our third day, adding an extra layer of comfort to our visit. As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, I was thanked for my loyalty and offered a choice of welcome gifts, either bonus points or a stylish felt laptop sleeve with multiple compartments.

To top off the welcoming experience, we were both offered a welcome drink at Jann, with a choice of beer or wine, setting the stage for a memorable stay. This seamless blend of personalized service, thoughtful gestures, and attention to detail truly made us feel valued and well taken care of from the very beginning.
Room Quality and Comfort
Our four-night stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown, allowed us to experience two of their room offerings: the Guest Room and the 1 Bedroom Suite. The Guest Room offered generous views of the city skyline and the charming Chinatown heritage area. The suite, on the other hand, impressed us with its size and views of KL’s iconic buildings such as Merdeka 118, Petronas Twin Towers and Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower). Both rooms contributed to an enjoyable stay.

Guest Room (1813)
The Guest Room with partial city view, located on Level 18, was a comfortable 300 sqft space, perfect for 2 to 3 guests. The room’s thoughtful design to include a foyer created separation between the entrance and the rest of the room, providing additional privacy. Getting to the bedroom required walking through a hallway from the entrance foyer, passing the bathroom on the left, and wardrobe and storage cabinets on the right.

The Guest Room is furnished with a king-size bed, a single seater armchair, a coffee table, a swivel chair and a work desk located next to a long bench that provided ample space to keep our 29″ luggage open and off the ground throughout our stay.

Wardrobe and storage cabinets located right across the bathroom along the hallway, provided easy access and ample space for our clothes and belongings.

Bathroom is equipped with a single sink, a half-length wall-mounted mirror, a seated toilet and separate shower area with glass doors.

A placard on the tower rack highlights Marriott International’s Serve 360 initiative with the aim of reducing the group’s environmental impact through building and operating sustainable hotels and responsible sourcing.

The room included a kettle and an empty minibar, perfect for chilling our own drinks. We appreciated the sustainable glass bottles used for the complimentary drinking water. The hotel also provided complimentary coffee and tea.

The Guest Room features 2 windows, providing guests with beautiful views of the surrounding Chinatown area and the Kuala Lumpur skyline. The main west facing windows overlook Masjid Negara (National Mosque of Malaysia) and the historic Kuala Lumpur Railway Station.

Next to the work desk, the north facing side window offers guests a view of iconic landmarks such as the Petronas Twin Towers and Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower), as well as the surrounding Chinatown area, including a bird’s eye view of Kwai Chai Hong. We enjoyed relaxing in the room and simply watch the world go by.

In-line with the hotel’s theme of infusing design elements from its surroundings, the room featured artwork of a nostalgic Chinatown scene by Malaysian artist Loka Made.

For entertainment, a 42″ Samsung Smart TV offers the standard selection of Marriott channels from news, sports, cartoons, music and local channels.

The room was fitted with Simon Electric i7 Series switches and multi-standard sockets with USB-A ports for convenient device charging.

While the room was generally well-maintained, we did notice a few minor issues. The wardrobe doors didn’t close fully or align properly, and the soft-closing mechanisms on both the wardrobe and toilet seat were not functioning. Additionally, there were some stains on the bathroom tile grouts. Despite these small maintenance oversights, we enjoyed our stay in the comfortable and well-equipped room with great KL city views.
1 Bedroom Suite (1216)
On Day 3, we eagerly anticipated the move into the 1 Bedroom Suite. Although we had hoped for a room on a higher floor for better views, the hotel was at peak occupancy due to the Chinese New Year festive season, and the suite on Level 12 was the only one available. Despite being on a lower floor, the east-facing suite still offered impressive views of the city skyline.

The suite was significantly larger at 750 sqft, providing plenty of space for enhanced comfort. Upon entering, we were greeted by a spacious foyer, a guest bathroom, and an expansive dining and living area adorned with beautifully designed oriental-themed interiors. The living room featured a 55-inch Samsung Smart TV with the same channel selection as our previous room.

The separate bedroom was furnished with a king-size bed and a second 55-inch Samsung Smart TV.

Adjoining the bedroom is a spacious dressing room complete with a wardrobe and dressing table with a large, well-lit mirror reminiscent of a movie backstage.

The bathroom was equally spacious, featuring dual sinks, a separate shower and toilet area. One feature of the 1 Bedroom Suite that wasn’t available in the Guest Room is the large rain shower.

Similar to the Guest Room, the suite also provides the hotel brand’s in-house Activ Body Care toiletries.

Customer Service
The team at Four Points KL Chinatown truly impressed us with their outstanding hospitality, making our stay memorable. While they acknowledged the limited options, the Guest Relations Supervisor assured me they would do their best to accommodate our dietary needs and they certainly delivered.

Just minutes after settling into our room, she followed up with a thoughtful courtesy call to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. This level of attentiveness continued throughout our stay.
