Plaza Premium Lounge Singapore Terminal 1 is an independent pay-per-use lounge conveniently located in the Departures area of Changi Airport. Well-known to frequent travelers, this lounge is part of the award-winning Plaza Premium Group, which operates travel lounges in multiple locations across the Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas. It offers a wide range of facilities including three private resting suites, six shower rooms (one of which is wheelchair-friendly), two VIP rooms, and various seating options designed to accommodate both relaxation and productivity.
Location
Plaza Premium Lounge is located airside within the restricted area of Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 1, where passengers departing have cleared customs and passport control. Getting to the lounge is fairly easy, with enough wayfinding signages to provide directions. After clearing immigration at the automated lanes, turn left and head towards the direction of boarding gates C11 to C26. At the end of the walkway, you will find a set of escalators heading up to the lounge located on Level 3.
Note: Passengers arriving and transiting at Changi Airport won’t need to clear customs and passport control to access the lounge.
Ambiance and Design
Plaza Premium Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 1 offers a spacious, thoughtfully designed environment that enhances the travel experience. Spanning 7,000 square feet, the lounge is adorned in warm earth tones and divided into several distinct sections, seamlessly blending comfort and functionality. This versatile space caters to a wide range of traveler needs, providing both relaxation and productivity options.
As you step into the lounge, you’ll immediately notice a cluster of seating booths designed specifically for families with small children, a thoughtful and practical feature.
The lounge’s main seating area is arranged in rows of comfortable armchairs, facing the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of the Changi Airport runway. This thoughtful design not only enhances natural lighting and comfort but also provides guests with a front-row seat to the dynamic spectacle of aircraft taking off and landing, creating a vibrant atmosphere that adds to the overall travel experience.
The dining area is furnished with a mix of high tables with charging stations and dining tables arranged in clusters of four, creating a comfortable and functional space for guests to enjoy their meals and stay connected.
Adjacent to the dining area, the bar is designed exclusively for ordering and collecting drinks, featuring no bar stools for seating. Guests can simply place their drink orders and then return to their seats to enjoy their beverages in comfort.
Additionally, the lounge includes the signature “honeycomb” productivity pods equipped with individual lighting and power outlets, ideal for solo travelers seeking a quiet space to work or recharge.
The lounge also features two semi-private VIP rooms furnished with four single armchairs and coffee tables in each room.
Overall, the lounge layout is both practical and thoughtfully designed, maximizing the available space to ensure optimal functionality and comfort without any waste.
Amenities
The lounge provides separate restrooms for men and women. During our visit, we found the men’s restroom to be clean and well-maintained, while the ladies’ restroom could have been cleaner. This discrepancy may be due to the timing of restroom usage and cleaning schedule.
Shower facilities are available for an additional charge, with a total of six showers provided, including one that is wheelchair accessible.
For travelers seeking privacy and relaxation between flights, the lounge offers private resting suites with beds and sleeping pods with reclining armchairs.
The lounge offers Wi-Fi access, which is adequate for basic tasks such as browsing the internet, checking emails, and scrolling social media. However, users may experience lag when attempting to stream bandwidth-intensive content like high-definition videos. Additionally, there are charging points conveniently located throughout the lounge to keep your devices powered.
Food and Beverage
Plaza Premium Lounge Singapore Terminal 1 offers an unlimited buffet spread featuring local and continental fare, draft Tiger beer and wine.
Create your own unique salad with the fresh ingredients available at the salad bar.
Croissants were good. Flaky and buttery.
Beverage selection includes coffee, tea, soft drinks and infused water.
Plaza Premium Lounge features an ala carte menu with dishes prepared upon order. We tried their Singapore Laksa and Vegetarian Noodles Soup.
Singapore laksa was a standout dish.
The roti prata was decent but the curry fell short, being somewhat watered down and lacking in flavor.
Vegetarian Noodles Soup was rather bland and lacked flavor.
Fried mee hoon or vermicelli (standout) and scrambled eggs (decent).
One area for improvement at the Plaza Premium Lounge Singapore is the limited selection of dishes for vegetarians and vegans. Given the lounge’s emphasis on comfort and luxury, expanding the menu to better accommodate these dietary preferences could enhance the experience for a broader range of travelers.
Lounge Access
Plaza Premium Lounge Singapore Terminal 1 operates 24 hours a day and offers a variety of lounge use packages to meet diverse needs, including access to shower facilities, private resting suites and sleeping pods. Walk-in rates for adults begin at SGD 55 for three hours of lounge access, while children enjoy a 30% discount off the adult rate.

Holders of airport lounge memberships such as Priority Pass and DragonPass, can enjoy complimentary access to Plaza Premium Lounge Singapore.
Selected credit cards issued in Singapore and Malaysia also provide complimentary access to Plaza Premium Lounge.
Overall Experience
We visited the Plaza Premium Lounge Singapore on a Saturday morning in mid-September and were pleasantly surprised by the lack of crowds. This made our experience much more enjoyable, as we were able to easily find a preferred seat and avoid the hustle and bustle that we often encounter at other lounges, like the SATS Premier Lounge in Changi Airport Terminal 2.
Overall, Plaza Premium Lounge Singapore Terminal 1 provides a comprehensive range of lounge facilities for travelers looking to rest and enjoy a meal before or between flights. A standout feature is the lounge seating that offers views of the airport runway. The food and beverage selection was decent, with several notable offerings.
